KZ ZAR — 1DD + 7BA Hybrid In-Ear Monitor

The KZ ZAR is a flagship-tier hybrid in-ear monitor built for musicians who need to hear everything — on stage, in the studio, and everywhere in between.

Each earpiece packs eight drivers: one self-developed dynamic driver handling the low end, plus seven balanced armature drivers covering the mids and highs. That's sixteen drivers across the pair. Rather than asking a single driver to do everything, the ZAR splits the frequency range across dedicated units, so bass stays punchy and controlled while vocals and instruments keep their separation instead of blurring together.

Bass that moves air. The redesigned dynamic driver uses a precision magnetic circuit with a 0.15mm magnetic gap and a four-layer voice coil, delivering low-frequency impact with real depth and consistency — the kind of rumble bassists and drummers actually feel.

Vocals with presence. The 50024S balanced armature array handles the mid-to-high range, giving vocals a clear, complete, and expressive character that sits properly in a busy mix.

Detail at the top. The 30019S balanced armature replaces the older 30095 unit, extending ultra-high frequency performance and sharpening overall resolution — cymbals, strings, and air come through without smearing.

Electronic crossover technology routes each frequency band to the driver built for it, keeping distortion low and the soundstage wide.

Built to last, built to fit. An ergonomic over-ear shell with silicone tips creates a stable, isolating seal that stays put through a full set. The high-purity 8-strand silver-plated cable is fully detachable via a 0.75mm 2-pin connector, so a damaged cable means a cheap replacement — not a dead pair of earphones.

Live shows, studio sessions, church services, or a serious personal listening setup: the ZAR handles all of it.

Works with any 3.5mm headphone jack: smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktops, audio interfaces, mixers, portable players, DAC/amp dongles, IEM beltpack receivers, and gaming consoles via the controller jack. No amplifier required — at 16.5Ω and 109dB it runs properly straight from a phone or laptop. Devices without a headphone jack (modern iPhones, many recent Android phones, slim laptops) need a USB-C or Lightning to 3.5mm adapter, not included. The detachable 0.75mm 2-pin connector also allows KZ Bluetooth earhook adapters for wireless use, plus third-party upgrade cables including 2.5mm and 4.4mm balanced terminations.
